About This Map

This map automatically pulls data from the calendars of various SCA groups to show you what events, practices, demonstrations and other activities might be happening near you. Click on any individual map marker to see details about the event.

The tool isn’t perfect, so before attending an event, please check the webpage for the hosting group to find accurate and up-to-date information. Sometimes the best source of information is social media; you can usually search the name of your local Kingdom or Barony on Facebook to find a useful group, and make a post asking what you should know as a first-time attendee. The map may not reflect last-minute cancellations or weather conditions.

The SCA tries to be as welcoming and inclusive as possible; it’s possible to just show up at most events, pay at the door, borrow some medieval-looking clothes to wear over your mundane outfit, and join in with activities. There is no entrance exam or application, and no test of whether you know enough or have done enough. However, some events do require you to buy a ticket in advance, and some events might not have loaner kit; check with locals.
